LT Tailors: replacement computer setup
Printer recovery kit 1.1.0. For Windows 10/11 x64 and Epson TM-T20III USB. This kit includes Node.js and the tested printing libraries. No npm installation is needed.
1. Recover the ticket app
- Install Chrome and open LT Tailors Ticket System.
- Sign in using your existing staff email, ticket app password, and authenticator code. You do not need an AWS administrator login. If necessary, use the sign-in page's password recovery option.
- Your saved AWS tickets and shared settings are online. Unsaved tickets and a failed computer's local backups are not recovered by this kit. Protect your authenticator access.
- The setup below creates a desktop shortcut that opens the ticket system in its own Chrome window and starts printing automatically.
2. Install the local printer helper
- Download the recovery ZIP and choose Extract All. Do not run setup from inside the ZIP.
- Open the extracted LT-Tailors-Printer-Setup folder and double-click Install-Printer.cmd.
- Setup verifies the included files, copies the helper into your Windows user profile, and creates the LT Tailors Ticket System desktop shortcut with automatic printer startup, plus manual printer test and troubleshooting shortcuts.
- If Windows blocks the downloaded script, right-click the downloaded ZIP, choose Properties, use Unblock if available, then extract it again. If Windows or your organization's policy still blocks the setup, ask the computer administrator; do not disable security protections.
3. Set up the Epson USB driver
The working original register used libusb-win32 for direct USB printing. Windows test-page printing is a different path and is not needed for this helper.
- Turn on the Epson, load receipt paper, close the cover, and connect its USB cable directly to the replacement computer.
- In Device Manager, check the TM-T20III device. If it already uses libusb-win32 and the USB test below prints, leave the driver alone.
- If a driver change is needed, obtain Zadig only from the official Zadig website. Read its instructions.
- In Zadig, enable Options > List All Devices. Select TM-T20III and verify its USB IDs are 04B8 : 0E28. Do not select another USB device.
- Select libusb-win32 to match the tested original setup, then use Install Driver or Replace Driver. Windows may ask for administrator approval. Reconnect the printer afterward.
- Double-click LT Tailors - Test Printer. It should print one short test slip. If it fails, keep the error text for troubleshooting.
4. Print tickets
- Double-click the LT Tailors Ticket System desktop shortcut created by this setup. The printer helper starts quietly in the background; no separate Start Printer step is needed. Use this shortcut after restarting Windows. Opening the website directly does not start the USB helper.
- Open the ticket app and allow Chrome's local network permission if asked.
- Load an existing invoice and use Ticket Reprint to check the output. New receipts use Save & Print Receipt.
If printing fails, the saved AWS ticket remains available. Check the paper before repeating a print after an uncertain delivery.
The previous AWS app address also remains available: AWS fallback address. The helper supports both addresses. Browser-local offline backups are separate for each address; your saved AWS tickets are shared.
